Is the English publisher really Yen Press? On the Amazon and Book Depository pages it says ‘Little, Brown Young Readers’.
Thanks for the detail, MegaKnogga; I’ll add it to the entry. From the information I could scrounge up, it looks like Little Brown Books for Young Readers is a division in Hachette Book Group, a major book publisher in the USA. Yen Press is a part of the Orbit division in the Hachette Book Group. Haruhi Suzumiya appears to be published officially by Little Brown Books for Young Readers (AKA Little, Brown and Company), but is still typically considered a central part of the Yen Press lineup (especially at yenpress.com). I would guess this title was simply acquired by Hachette (back in 2009) before Yen Press started focusing on multiple light novel series, but I would have to check release dates on that.
Um, I know this is about 5 yrs since the English release of “The wavering of Haruhi Suzumiya” but, why is it so expensive? It’s like $100 for a new one and it just doesn’t make sense to me that you would under stock on the 6th book while have too much for all the other books.
Hm, it looks like the hardcover edition is selling for a high price on Amazon for some reason. Perhaps just not many copies out there for that volume?
At least there is a paperback and Kindle version for 13 or 10 dollars, though I understand you might want to collect a full set of the hardcovers. In which case, perhaps just keep checking up on it, in case they print up another batch for it.
