The light novel Alice in the Country of Diamonds: Bet on My Heart has recently been released by Seven Seas. It is available in paperback, and can be purchased online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Book Depository.

Volume 1
Volume 1

Synopsis:

After another Wonderland “move” throws Alice into the Country of Diamonds, she’s in for a nasty surprise: in Diamonds, none of her old friends recognize her! A routine trip to Hatter Mansion ends with Eliot’s gun in her face and a trip to the Hatter’s dungeon. As Alice tries to figure out the new dangerous reality of the Country of Diamonds—including the possibility that it’s stuck somewhere in the past—Blood develops interest in her, and tentatively offers her protection in his country. But this isn’t the Mad Hatter Alice is used to: this Blood seems younger, lacking his usual confidence, and struggling to run his Mafia organization. He’s also obsessed with her relationship with the “other” Blood Dupre, even while he and Alice become much more intimate.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Leaf-san! This is a topic I’m interested in, and I’ve addressed it a little bit on my Tumblr here. I certainly recommend Book Girl and Kieli, both of which are finished LN series Yen Press has brought over. (And maybe consider Kagerou Daze and Durarara?) These all have crossover appeal, but for various reasons could be of extra interest to girls.

There are many shoujo/josei LNs in Japan, but few get noticed in the West as it’s quite rare for any of them to be adapted into anime (as most shoujo/josei anime are manga adaptations). That may change in time, but for now it requires a bit of research for people to learn about the various genres covered in the LN world.

      1. Thanks, Cho! Haha I am open to all genres of reading, but it just really hit me that there was barely any light novels that focused on romance for the female audience. I can get behind some echhi and try and get behind the male lead, but after a while it just gets stale to me. Then again, I”m not a guy so I have no idea if this stuff is actually good or if it’s just “sex sells.”
Thanks for the link to your tumblr and thanks for your informative site on light novels. You really sold me to make the venture back when I first discovered your site. I was a little late to make my own to comment on your post, but I really appreciate what you’ve done! And thanks for the recommendations! Will check those out! :D
