I didn’t think of a good April Fool’s joke this year, so I’ll stick to the usual plan and link some light novel blog posts from the past month:
- A review of Boogiepop at Dawn, from Manga Bookshelf
- A review of Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? vol. 1, from Honya’s Bookshelf
- A review of Oregairu vol. 1, from Melodicity
- A review of Sword Art Online vol. 1, from The Geeky Corner
- A review of Mushoku Tensei series, from Short Stories Blog
- Moving on from reviews, here is a post about the best-selling light novels without an anime adaptation, meticulously put together by kuuderes_shadow. The write-up presents a list of series that are perhaps the most likely to receive anime adaptations in the future, based on sales and noting which publishers tend to have anime made for their titles.
- Speaking of light novels without anime adaptations, are you ready to read a whole lot about a wide variety of titles from Japan? Moogy reviews at least a dozen light novels!
- Have you heard of cell phone novels? They’re novels written on cell phones–a trend that has caught on in Japan over the past ten years or so. I’ve recently learned of an original English cell phone novel that has been published, called Secondhand Memories. (Thanks to WanderinDreamr for linking it to me!)
- Will there be light novel releases of Henneko from Digital Manga? Frog-kun (Fantastic Memes) notes it has been added to their upcoming titles list. I’ll be sure to add it to the sidebar here if it gets an official release date of any kind. (Same with the next volume of Aria the Scarlet Ammo…)
- I’ll end with a quick reminder: April 21st gives us six new light novels in English! Three of which are new series to begin collecting…
Happy reading, everyone! Be sure to let me know if there’s something you’d like added to the list.
