KizuMonogatari Synopsis:
Around midnight, under a lonely street lamp in a provincial town in Japan, lies a white woman, a blonde, alone, robbed of all four limbs, yet undead. Indeed, a rumor’s been circulating among the local girls that a vampire has come to their backwater, of all places. Koyomi Araragi, who prefers to avoid having friends because they’d lower his “intensity as a human,” is naturally skeptical. Yet it is to him that the bloodsucking demon, a concept “dated twice over,” beckons on the first day of spring break as he makes his way home with a fresh loot of morally compromising periodicals. Always disarmingly candid, often hilariously playful, and sometimes devastatingly moving, KIZUMONOGATARI: Wound Tale is the perfect gateway into the world of author NISIOISIN, the bestselling young novelist in Japan today. The prequel to BAKEMONOGATARI (“Monster Tale”), this is where the legendary MONOGATARI series, whose anime adaptations have enjoyed international popularity and critical acclaim, begins. A theatrical feature based on KIZUMONOGATARI is due to be released in Japan in January 2016.
The Devil is a Part-Timer! volume 3 Synopsis:
A portal opens in the courtyard of the Devil’s Castle (a tiny walk-up). From it emerges a little girl who calls the Devil King “papa” and the Hero “mama.” Ashiya and Chiho are shocked to discover that Maou and Emi had that kind of relationship, but nobody’s more surprised than the two new “parents.” Will Maou the breadwinner be able to make the grade when it comes to child rearing? And will this spell the end of the starry-eyed Emi’s romantic ambitions?
Spice and Wolf volume 15 Synopsis:
The introduction of a new currency in the town of Lesko has filled Lawrence with boundless optimism, but his dreams come to a sudden and harsh end when two men from the Debau Company present him with a grim token-Col’s traveling bag. With his young friend’s safety threatened and the stability of the town suddenly in doubt, Lawrence’s plans to open a shop are dashed. Separated from Holo yet again, he finds himself a forced participant in a desperate scheme to reclaim the Debau Company from the nobility who now control it. But when mercenary armies clash in the mountains, what will become of Lawrence and Holo? For good or ill, the finale of their tale is at hand!
Sword Art Online volume 6 Synopsis:
In an effort to discover the truth behind Death Gun, Kirito has entered the Bullet of Bullets tournament in Gun Gale Online. Both he and Sinon the sniper girl have made it to the finals, and the reality of what they discover is stranger than anything they could’ve prepared for. As Sinon is forced to face her own past, lives are on the line once again, and Kirito struggles to connect Death Gun to events in the original SAO game–but can Death Gun’s bizarre rampage be stopped in time?
Black Bullet volume 2 Synopsis:
Following Rentaro Satomi’s defeat of the Stage Five Gastrea, Tokyo Area returns to uneasy normalcy. When the ambitious leader of Osaka Area, Sougen Saitake, demands a visit with Lady Seitenshi, she needs a new bodyguard–and who should she pick but the city’s new hero, Rentaro. However, dark forces are conspiring against Lady Seitenshi, and their origin is closer to home than anyone dares to imagine. Rentaro and Enju will have to confront a new kind of threat in order to protect the tenuous peace they’ve won–but how do you fight an enemy you can’t even see?
Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? volume 4 Synopsis:
Following his defeat of the Minotaur, Bell has reached Level Two–and is the new record holder for the fastest to do so. Suddenly everyone in Orario wants to form a party with him and go adventuring! But with sudden popularity comes many a complication. How will Bell and Hestia know whom to trust? The Familia myth–written by the goddess and lived by the boy–continues!
I’m thinking KizuMono will be my gift to myself.
It’s one of the LNs I got for myself this season — I will have to start reading it soon.
I picked up Kizu and was surprised by how beautiful it looks. The black Vertical cover mixed in with all the white YenOn ones makes for a great contrast.
Agreed, it’s a nice-looking release. The paper is good quality, and the cover turned out nicely too. Also, it’s kind of interesting how the cover itself is folded like a slip cover?
