Four new light novels were released on May 24th:
Looks like a lot of reading to do! Two new series starting up (Overlord and Baccano!). Three titles available in hardback (both of those, plus Another: Episode S/0). And all four available as ebooks (all three of those, plus Strike the Blood).
And coming up next week:
On May 31st, a new paperback omnibus will release. Seraph of the End is releasing two volumes at a time, so this release was volumes 3 and 4 in Japan. (Interestingly, I can’t find a synopsis up for this release anywhere.)
Baccano! volume 1 Synopsis:
New York, 1931. The manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited by law, but behind this prohibition, organized crime flourishes-so, too, do bank robbers, bootleggers, assassins, and homunculi. Some want money, some are chasing the secret to immortality, and others just want to have a really good time. You know what they say, though: You can’t always get what you want.
Strike the Blood volume 3 Synopsis:
Kojou and Yukina join forces with Natsuki Minamiya to protect Itogami City from a new threat from the skies–but even Kojou’s Beast Vassal can’t take this new foe on, and who should rescue them from their predicament but Kojou’s sister’s friend, a silver-haired girl named Kanon Kanase! But when Kanon disappears, Kojou and Yukina may find that there are some problems not even the world’s mightiest vampire can solve!
Overlord volume 1 Synopsis:
For twelve years, the virtual world of Yggdrasil has served as the playground and battlefield for the skeletal lord Momonga and his guild of fellow monsters, Ainz Ooal Gown. But the guild’s glory days are over, and the game is shutting down permanently. When Momonga logs in one last time just to be there when the servers go dark, something happens–and suddenly, fantasy is reality. A rogues’ gallery of fanatically devoted NPCs is ready to obey his every order, but the world Momonga now inhabits is not the one he remembers. The game may be over, but the epic tale of Ainz Ooal Gown is only beginning…
Another: Episode S/0 Synopsis:
Summer, 1998. Mei Misaki, age fifteen, has gone with her family to their seaside vacation home. There she meets the ghost of Teruya Sakaki, her classmate from Yomiyama North Middle School Class 3-3 who, like Mei, witnessed the mysterious events that had transpired at the school. There begins an adventure of memory and mystery as they search for the ghost’s body and his memories alike.
I’ll be sure to update all the LN entries as soon as I can!
UPDATE: I might as well mention here that Vertical’s light novel audiobooks now have pages up on Audible.
Kizumonogatari is now available to purchase and listen to. This audiobook is given a dramatic reading with Keith Silverstein, Eric Kimerer, and Cristina Vee voicing the different characters. The link provides an audio sample, so you can listen to a bit of it before you buy.
Note that Audible includes a monthly option (one audiobook a month, $14.95 a month), which you can try out for free for one month.
