The only survivors are demons and children, and those few who remain are threatened by rampaging monsters and callous vampires rounding up human beings like cattle. Faced with overwhelming despair, the survivors band together in hopes of reviving their world.
Tormented by the sin he has committed and unable to share the burden with his friends, Guren sets out on a new journey amid the ruins of the world he himself destroyed. But is he man or demon, savior or angel of death? Not even he knows for sure.

    1. Thanks!
The art is quite nice, isn’t it? I am curious of giving this series a shot some time, though I wonder how important it is to be familiar with the manga/anime first.

      1. Turns out the author answers this question in the afterword of the first volume: “…this book is being released at the same time as issue one of the manga…It would make me very happy if the fans read the novel and the manga at the same time. But since both the protagonists (the hero of the manga series is named Yuichiro Hyakuya) and the concepts are different, you can definitely enjoy one without reading the other…”

      2. Thanks for the information there, Eric! I think this is an interesting setup the author and illustrator managed to put together, running a novel and a manga series at the same time.

  1. I am 4 chapters in and there are things that I know from the manga that pop out at me as I read the LN. Think it could be read first since they do describe what’s going on, though, but hard for me to say given I already have the knowledge. Also note that the anime had an anime only ending and the manga just entered what seems like will be its final arc.
